meeting of the rector of Tavrida National University Volodymyr Kazarin with representatives of the Coordinating Council of NGOs from CrimeaThe group included the Head of Educational Programs of the Almendy Civic Education Center, Valentina Potapov , the chairman of the NGO “Euromaidan-Crimea”, Sergey Mokrenyuk, and the coordinator of the Tauride Humanitarian Platform, Andriy Ivanets.

According to the press service of the Coordinating Council, during the meeting of the leadership of TNU with the representatives of the Coordination Board, a wide range of problems of deployment of university activities in Kiev was discussed. These include the implementation of a roadmap for ensuring the activities of the university, developed in September 2016 by the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Crimean educational institution and the Coordinate, as well as ways to create the conditions for unveiling the creative and civic potential of students.

“It is very important for us that Taurida National University should become one of the leading universities in the country, train true intellectual and managerial elites and live up to the hopes of the Crimeans who, despite all the difficulties, come to study in Kyiv, ” emphasize the Peoples Council of NGOs.

During the meeting, representatives of civil society were reminded of the proposal put forward by Coordrada in the fall of 2016 to create a higher University Supervisory Board to protect the rights of Crimeans to access education and effectively solve problems. TNU Rector V. Kazarin supported this idea and emphasized the openness of the work of the educational institution headed by him.

However, due to the fact that the full work of the Supervisory Board will be possible to develop only after the approval of the charter of TNU, it was decided to form an initiative group for operational cooperation between the public and the Rectorate in solving problems of higher education and conducting preparatory work.
